Quality Food Safety & Environmental (QFSE) Manager

About the role

The Quality Food Safety & Environmental (QFSE) Manager will lead the strategic and operational delivery of quality, food safety, health, safety and environmental performance at the Polokwane plant. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the role ensures safe, compliant and high‑quality products while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure consistent application of Coca‑Cola quality and food safety standards (FSSC 22000, ISO 9001).
• Lead internal and external audits and drive timely closure of corrective actions.
• Oversee laboratory performance, product testing and analytical compliance.
• Implement and monitor safety and environmental policies aligned to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Conduct risk assessments, investigations and lead mitigation actions.
• Maintain robust SHEQ systems for data management, traceability and reporting.
• Champion GMP, hygiene, pest control and sanitation programmes.
• Lead, coach and develop the QFSE team and deliver plant‑wide training.
• Monitor QFSE KPIs, report performance and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior quality, food safety or environmental role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of audit processes and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence plant leadership.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
