Quality Control & Industrial Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Quality Control & Industrial Engineer to join a well‑established manufacturing company in Benrose, Johannesburg. The role focuses on maintaining ISO 9001 and SABS certifications, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring product quality from raw material receipt to finished goods.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain ISO 9001 Quality Management System and SABS certification requirements.
• Conduct incoming inspections of raw materials and finished products.
• Interpret electrical wiring diagrams and verify component functionality.
• Develop, implement and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Perform time and motion studies to boost productivity.
• Provide training, coaching and leadership to operational teams.
• Investigate quality issues and execute corrective and preventive actions.
• Compile technical and quality reports, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Lead internal audits and support external certification audits.
• Support supplier quality management and incoming material assurance.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality assurance environment.
• Proven experience maintaining ISO 9001 QMS and knowledge of SABS standards.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams.
• Strong problem‑solving, root‑cause analysis and documentation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, with high attention to detail.
