Quality Assurance (QA) Manager – Food Industry (Systems Focused)

About the role

The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of food safety and quality management systems across the site. This systems‑driven position ensures compliance with legislation, certification standards and internal policies while fostering a strong food safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) and Food Safety Management System, ensuring alignment with HACCP, ISO 22000 and FSSC 22000.
• Act as the site HACCP Team Leader, keeping hazard analyses current, validated and verified.
• Maintain documented procedures, SOPs, work instructions and records with effective document and version control.
• Plan, lead and manage internal audits, GMP audits, hygiene audits and prepare the site for external audits by certification bodies, customers and regulators.
• Handle audit findings, conduct root‑cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to closure.
• Identify system gaps, drive continuous‑improvement projects and embed risk‑based thinking throughout quality and food‑safety processes.
• Establish and monitor supplier approval programs, review supplier audits, COAs and manage raw‑material non‑conformances.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing, implementing and improving QMS and Food Safety Management Systems in a food‑manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000 and local food‑safety legislation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead internal and external audits and manage CAPA processes.
• Experience with supplier approval, raw‑material quality control and document management.
