QA & Support Analyst

About the role

Candide, an AI-first tech company behind hospitality and lifestyle estates including Babylonstoren, is hiring a full-time, permanent QA & Support Analyst to work in-office at Babylonstoren, Klapmuts, South Africa. The role helps estate and internal teams get the most from Candide's systems and supports the release of reliable software. It is a junior position suited to someone with strong problem-solving skills, clear communication and a willingness to learn, with guidance from Product Owners and Engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a point of contact for estate and internal teams, clarifying requests, assessing impact and prioritising issues with Product Owners.
• Investigate problems across user-facing applications and internal systems, reproduce issues, gather evidence and distinguish defects from configuration, data or usage questions.
• Resolve issues within your knowledge and access, escalate others with clear reproduction steps and evidence, track issues to resolution and turn recurring questions into documentation.
• Plan and run manual, exploratory and regression testing across web applications, mobile apps and connected workflows.
• Clarify requirements and acceptance criteria with Product Owners and Engineers, coordinate user acceptance testing and maintain reusable test cases.
• Use AI tools to draft test scenarios, write bug reports and support replies, and build reusable prompts or simple scripts with engineering support.

Required profile

• Clear written and verbal communication in English and Afrikaans, including explaining technical issues to non-technical people.
• Practical use of AI tools with the judgement to verify results.
• Confidence learning unfamiliar software and handling competing requests.
• Recent graduates and candidates with relevant practical experience are welcome.

Required skills

• Software testing or UAT, and technical or customer support.
• Jira or similar tools, basic SQL, APIs, browser developer tools or scripting are advantages.
• Exposure to test automation or AI-assisted workflows is an advantage.
