Public Works Director

About the role

The City of Metter is seeking an experienced leader to oversee its Public Works division. The Director will be responsible for directing and coordinating the diverse functions of the department’s sub‑units, ensuring efficient delivery of municipal services.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate work across all sub‑units of the Public Works division.
• Manage utility operations and related public works activities.
• Ensure compliance with city policies and applicable regulations.

Required profile

• Baccalaureate degree in a field related to public works or a comparable occupational area.
• Three to five years of related experience demonstrating an understanding of departmental objectives.
• At least six years of public works experience, including a minimum of two years in utilities.
• Completion of a 90‑hour Public Works Management certification program.
• Valid Georgia driver’s license.
