Property Custodian

About the role

The Property Custodian leads the overall operation and commercial success of Finfoot Lake Reserve, representing the Dream Hotels & Resorts brand at the property level. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences while maintaining high standards across all hotel functions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for all operational departments and ensure smooth day‑to‑day lodge operations.
• Maintain premium standards in accommodation, food & beverage, guest facilities and public areas.
• Drive preventative maintenance, oversee refurbishment, and manage capital improvement projects.
• Prepare and present monthly operational and financial performance reports to executive leadership.
• Develop and manage the annual operating budget, monitor financial performance, and implement cost‑control measures.
• Partner with sales and marketing to grow occupancy, revenue, and corporate relationships.
• Recruit, develop, and retain high‑performing staff while fostering an inclusive, performance‑driven culture.
• Ensure compliance with brand standards, licences, health & safety, food safety, and environmental regulations.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in hotel or resort operations.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and driving profitability.
• Excellent guest‑service orientation and ability to resolve issues promptly.
• Demonstrated ability to lead people, develop talent, and promote employee wellbeing.
• Knowledge of compliance, health & safety, and environmental stewardship in hospitality.
