Property Accountant

About the role

The Property Accountant will manage the financial side of our real‑estate portfolio, ensuring accurate recording of all transactions and delivering timely financial insight to support business decisions. This full‑time position reports to senior finance leadership and works closely with property managers and external auditors.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse financial statements, balance sheets, income statements and cash‑flow reports for each property.
• Develop annual budgets and cash‑flow forecasts in collaboration with property managers, monitoring performance against targets.
• Administer rent and lease accounting, including invoicing, collections, lease abstracts and tenant account reconciliations.
• Process accounts payable, verify invoices and ensure timely vendor payments.
• Maintain the general ledger, post journal entries such as accruals, pre‑paids and depreciation.
• Conduct variance analysis, profitability assessments and ROI calculations to identify trends and risks.
• Support tax compliance by providing data for property tax returns and audits.
• Implement internal controls and assist external auditors during financial audits.

Required profile

• Proven experience in property or real‑estate accounting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical mindset.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

• Solid Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
