Project Quality Manager – Renewable Energy (Postmasburg)

About the role

Kwena Human Capital is recruiting an experienced Quality Manager to join the Redstone PV + BESS project – a 19 MWp solar PV plant with a 30 MWh/4‑hour battery energy storage system. The role covers design, construction, commissioning and close‑out of this utility‑scale renewable energy asset, working full‑time on‑site within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Support the project team to deliver works according to the approved programme, specifications and quality requirements, coordinating with subcontractors and other disciplines.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical documentation; resolve technical queries and coordinate interfaces between PV, electrical, BESS, SCADA/PTMC and other systems.
• Supervise site activities, manage work fronts and subcontractor performance, ensuring materials and equipment are available as needed.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, ITPs and quality standards; support inspections, punch‑list activities and project close‑out documentation.
• Comply with HSE requirements and South African legislation, participate in risk assessments, toolbox talks and enforce stop‑work authority when required.

Required profile

• National Diploma/BTech/BSc/BEng in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Quality Management or a related field.
• 8–10 years relevant QA/QC experience, including at least 5 years as a Quality Manager on large‑scale construction or EPC projects.
• Proven ability to develop, implement and manage Quality Management Systems and handle ITPs, NCRs, inspection records and punch‑list management.
• Experience with incoming material/equipment inspections, as‑built documentation and managing multiple subcontractors.
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification is highly advantageous.
