Project Manager – Payments & Card (Contract)

About the role

IQbusiness is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead payments and card initiatives on a contract basis. The role involves steering projects from initiation through delivery within a banking or financial‑services environment, collaborating with business, technology and vendor stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end delivery of card and payments projects, ensuring scope, schedule and budget are met.
• Engage business owners, delivery teams and sponsors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Define project objectives, delivery approaches and success criteria.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines and dependency trackers.
• Monitor risks, issues and dependencies, escalating when necessary.
• Provide regular status updates and facilitate governance meetings, workshops and reviews.
• Support budget tracking, resource planning and reporting.
• Ensure comprehensive project documentation, handover and lessons‑learned at closure.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of project management experience, preferably in banking or financial services.
• Hands‑on experience with card payments, merchant acquiring, payment acceptance or contactless solutions.
• Proven ability to deliver technology and business change initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder, risk and dependency management capabilities.
• Experience working in Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery environments.

• Project Management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid)
