Project Manager

About the role

The Project Manager will lead the planning, coordination and execution of plant engineering projects within COFCO International's manufacturing environment in Standerton. The role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within scope and budget while supporting plant reliability and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, coordinate and manage plant engineering projects to meet approved scope, timeline and budget.
• Develop project scopes, objectives, schedules, budgets and resource plans; lead all project phases from initiation to close‑out.
• Review and approve engineering drawings, technical documents, layouts and contractor submissions to ensure technical soundness and compliance.
• Integrate projects into the operating plant with minimal disruption to production, utilities and maintenance activities.
• Assess plant tie‑ins, layout implications, utility requirements and operational impacts; coordinate with production, maintenance, EHS and other departments.
• Identify, assess and mitigate engineering and project risks; conduct risk assessments and hazard reviews.
• Monitor contractor safety performance and enforce corrective actions as needed.
• Prepare CAPEX submissions, track project spending and monitor cost variance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in planning, coordinating and executing plant engineering projects within an operating manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work closely with production, maintenance, EHS and other cross‑functional teams.
• Strong understanding of project risk, safety and compliance requirements.
• Experience preparing financial justifications and managing project budgets.
