Project Manager – Engineering (Power Generation)

About the role

We are seeking a Project Manager – Engineering to lead the delivery of power generation projects for our Power Gen Department in Gauteng, South Africa. The role combines end‑to‑end project execution with technical engineering oversight to ensure projects meet business goals and stakeholder expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, initiate and drive multiple engineering projects, defining scope, objectives, timelines and performance metrics.
• Coordinate resources, budgets and schedules, ensuring delivery within agreed timeframes and financial limits.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and issues early, and implement mitigation strategies with relevant stakeholders.
• Communicate status, updates and insights transparently to sponsors and stakeholders.
• Foster a high‑performing team environment through coaching, feedback and knowledge sharing.
• Capture lessons learned and best practices to continuously improve project processes.

Required profile

• Certified Design Draughtsperson or equivalent qualification with proven design experience.
• Demonstrated experience in project coordination or management within an engineering or technical setting.
• Ability to design balance‑of‑plant systems and ensure seamless integration of components.
• Strong knowledge of IEC and SANS standards and their application in project design.
• Proficiency in engineering calculations, BOM compilation and scope‑of‑work documentation.
• Excellent risk and scope management capabilities.
