Project Manager – Banking Projects

About the role

Our client, a leading banking institution, is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the end‑to‑end delivery of complex banking projects. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget while meeting quality, risk and governance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project charters, plans, schedules, roadmaps, scope, milestones and success criteria throughout the project lifecycle.
• Drive delivery from initiation through implementation, transition to business‑as‑usual and closure.
• Facilitate steering committees, working groups, Exco reporting, workshops and other governance forums.
• Build and sustain relationships with business, technology, risk, compliance, vendors and sponsors.
• Manage project budgets, cost forecasts, expenditures and resource allocation.
• Identify, log and mitigate risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies (RAID) and ensure timely escalation.
• Maintain project documentation, approvals, risk assessments, compliance evidence and audit artefacts.
• Provide accurate status reports, dashboards, financial updates and executive reporting.
• Coordinate change management, business readiness, implementation and post‑implementation activities, including lessons learned and benefits realisation.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of Project/Programme Management experience, with mandatory banking project delivery experience.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, facilitation and influencing skills across business and technology teams.
• Strategic thinking, planning and prioritisation aligned to business objectives.
• Decision‑making, problem‑solving, negotiation and conflict‑resolution capabilities.
• High accountability and ability to operate in complex, cross‑functional banking environments.
• Focus on governance, risk management, delivery controls and continuous improvement.
