Project Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Project Engineer to lead engineering and infrastructure projects in Johannesburg. The role involves organising and controlling all project elements throughout the lifecycle, ensuring delivery of complex solutions on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Interface with external customers and stakeholders to align project objectives and progress.
• Coordinate regional and in‑country workgroups, collaborating with functional experts to design and implement solutions.
• Develop and present project documentation including facility capacity analyses, layouts, work breakdown structures, cost estimates and execution plans.
• Manage project risks, create contingency plans and oversee projects from inception to hand‑over.
• Conduct site evaluations of brownfield locations, space planning and specification of building services.
• Provide regular feedback and monthly reporting to senior management.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in a project engineering environment, preferably in facility design and engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of project management experience on multi‑disciplinary projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical or electrical building services engineering.
• Recognised qualification in project management.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Strong business acumen, problem‑analysis and numerical analysis abilities.
