Project Engineer I

About the role

Hexagon Autonomous Solutions is looking for a Project Engineer I to plan, coordinate and execute technical projects for mining systems across South Africa. The role blends engineering expertise with project management, covering the full lifecycle from design through testing and hand‑over.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, manage resources and monitor progress to ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
• Act as the technical escalation point for project teams, resolving complex issues and coordinating with Mining Services and other support teams.
• Deploy, configure and customise mining system solutions on‑site, including software installation, scripting‑based customisations and system testing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system faults, maintain technical documentation and report project status, risks and issues regularly.
• Collaborate with sales in pre‑sales activities, delivering technical presentations and advising on customer requirements.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of current and upcoming product offerings and industry best practices.
