Project Buyer

About the role

SENET, a leading EPCM company in the mining and mineral processing sector, is looking for a Project Buyer to join its Projects team. The role is essential for delivering projects on time and within budget by managing procurement activities across all project phases.

Key responsibilities

• Execute procurement activities during PFS, BFS, and execution phases.
• Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and engage with supplier markets.
• Manage commercial clarifications, evaluations, negotiations, and adjudication processes.
• Issue and manage purchase orders in line with project budgets.
• Maintain procurement reports, enquiry registers, and provide status updates to stakeholders.
• Coordinate with engineering, planning, and project teams to ensure alignment with schedules.

Required profile

• 3–8 years of experience as a Project Buyer in EPCM or engineering projects.
• Exposure to capital projects in mining or mineral processing.
• Strong commercial and negotiation abilities.
• Understanding of procurement processes and Incoterms.
• Ability to work in fast‑paced environments.
• Grade 12 (Matric) with a qualification in Supply Chain or Procurement; FIDIC or contract training is advantageous.
