Programme Coordinator and Lecturer: BCom Management and TQM

About the role

Lyceum College, based in Randburg, is recruiting a Programme Coordinator and Lecturer for the Faculty of Commerce. The successful candidate will coordinate the Bachelor of Commerce in Management and the Higher Certificate in Total Quality Management, while contributing to curriculum development, academic governance and high-quality teaching.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the academic and operational delivery of the assigned programmes
• Develop, review and enhance curricula, learning materials and assessments
• Deliver lectures, tutorials and academic support, and identify students at risk
• Ensure alignment with institutional policy, the Higher Education Qualifications Sub-Framework and the Council on Higher Education requirements
• Monitor programme performance, student progression and retention, and maintain accurate records
• Design assessments, coordinate moderation and give constructive feedback
• Manage module leaders and sessional lecturers, and contribute to accreditation and faculty governance
• Support research, distance learning and educational technologies, and build relationships with stakeholders

Required profile

• Master's degree in Management, Business Management, Strategic Management, Business Administration, Commerce or a closely related field
• At least three years of lecturing experience in higher education, preferably within it
• Demonstrated experience in programme coordination or academic leadership
• Experience in curriculum development, assessment design and programme review
• Understanding of South African higher education regulation and accreditation requirements

Advantageous requirements

• Doctoral qualification in a relevant business or commerce discipline
• Experience in open, distance or online learning, and in supervising research
• Research and publication profile, and experience in programme accreditation
