Professional Structural Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Professional Structural Engineer to join Takora Pty Ltd in Cape Town. The role involves delivering structural designs for water‑related infrastructure and managing projects through their full lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop structural designs and calculations for bulk water reservoirs, treatment facilities, stormwater systems and reinforced concrete structures.
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, ensuring timely delivery of drawings, schedules and reports within budget.
• Oversee project planning, contract administration and client liaison throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
• Registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist and minimum 2 years post‑registration experience.
• Own reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MasterSeries or Prokon.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
• Experience with BIM and digital design platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revit and AutoCAD.
