Professional Nurse Specialized - Medical ICU

About the role

Mediclinic is seeking a Professional Nurse specialized in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to deliver safe, comprehensive, and high‑quality nursing care. The role involves working within a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a critical care environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi‑professional team.
• Identify, prevent, and manage risks to ensure patient safety.
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
• Create a learning environment that builds staff competence.
• Ensure all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in General Nursing (essential).
• Additional qualifications such as Midwifery or a postgraduate certificate/diploma in a relevant specialty are desirable.
• No minimum experience required; 1 year of post‑graduate experience in a specialized unit is preferred.
• Basic life support training (ACLS, ATLS, PALS) for specialized wards.
