Professional Nurse - Anaesthetic and Recovery

About the role

Mediclinic is seeking a Professional Nurse specialised in anaesthetic and recovery to join its multidisciplinary team. The role focuses on delivering safe, comprehensive and high‑quality nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi‑professional team.
• Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety.
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment.
• Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
• Create a learning environment that builds staff competence.
• Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged.

Required profile

• Essential: Degree or Diploma in General Nursing.
• Desired: Midwifery qualification or postgraduate certificate/diploma in a relevant specialty.
• Essential: 2‑3 years experience as an anaesthetic and recovery nurse in theatre.
• Desired: 1 year of post‑graduate qualification experience before placement in a specialised unit.
• Basic life support training (ACLS, ATLS, PALS) and knowledge of relevant nursing legislation.
