Production Team Leader

About the role

We are looking for a Production Team Leader to join our vibrant FMCG manufacturing plant in Germiston. You will ensure optimal operation of production lines, support continuous improvement and maintain a safe, efficient working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a production line or hall (e.g., HB) and ensure smooth operation of all equipment.
• Conduct problem‑solving activities in the supervisor’s absence, applying Yellow Belt methodology.
• Represent the supervisor in management meetings when required.
• Oversee autonomous maintenance of the process/hall.
• Act as second signatory for material orders and manage stock balancing for your area.
• Call out artisans for technical support when the supervisor is unavailable.
• Perform inventory communications (invocoms) and related reporting.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• 3‑5 years of experience in plant operations.
• 3‑5 years of experience in a fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) production environment.
• Yellow Belt certification or equivalent problem‑solving training.

• Yellow Belt (Lean Six Sigma) problem‑solving.
• Production line operation and equipment handling.

• Stock balancing and basic technical troubleshooting.
