Production Supervisor – Manufacturing (Pinetown, Westmead)

About the role

The company is seeking a Production Supervisor for its adhesive manufacturing plant in Durban (Westmead area). The role involves overseeing packing staff, ensuring the production schedule, productivity, and quality targets are met, and maintaining a disciplined work environment. Candidates must have at least five years of first‑line supervision experience in a production setting.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the daily production plan and meet productivity targets.
• Ensure product quality and staff safety standards are upheld.
• Supervise and train production packing staff.
• Receive instructions from the Manufacturing Manager and communicate daily production requirements with the planner.
• Report progress to stakeholders and coordinate material flow.
• Direct staff to achieve the plan efficiently and manage machine breakdowns with maintenance.
• Notify stores and planners of schedule deviations or material issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience managing shop‑floor production staff.
• Matric qualification or studying towards a degree.
• Fluent in English and Zulu.
• Physically fit and medically certified.
• Preferred experience applying lean manufacturing principles.
