Production Supervisor – Manufacturing (41.5 hrs/week)

About the role

Prestige Clothing is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a multi‑skilled garment production line in Maitland. The role involves ensuring line efficiency, meeting hourly targets, and maintaining quality standards across the manufacturing process.

Key responsibilities

• Identify training required to develop a multi‑skilled production line.
• Attend pre‑production meetings prior to on‑line dates.
• Ensure line changeovers are completed in the shortest possible time.
• Set up the line according to the line‑balancing sheet and perform line balancing to maximise staff utilisation.
• Monitor and achieve hourly production targets while following the Production Plan.
• Report equipment faults immediately to minimise downtime.
• Verify bundle sheet information matches actual cutwork delivered to the line.
• Maintain work‑in‑progress levels by ensuring minimum garments on work stations.
• Report non‑conformances (Not In Full) promptly.
• Guarantee styles meet required quality standards and are off‑line 24 hours before the ASN date.
• Ensure deliveries align with Cutting Order and POM specifications.
• Enforce needle policy and discipline employees for misconduct or poor performance.
• Record downtime accurately on the MIS and conduct capacity checks to boost performance.
• Return completed trims to the trim store after style completion.

Required profile

• Grade 10 qualification.
• At least one year of supervisory experience, preferably in the clothing industry.
• Clear criminal record.
• Knowledge of garment construction.
• Good, contactable references.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office (desirable).
• Garment construction knowledge.
