Production Supervisor – Bakery FMCG

About the role

Premier FMCG is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a bakery production line. The role is responsible for meeting production targets while ensuring quality, cost efficiency, safety and team morale.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the assigned production line according to work instructions, recipes and packaging requirements.
• Achieve planned volumes and key performance indicators for quality, cost, delivery and safety.
• Allocate and manage labour resources on the line.
• Oversee first‑line maintenance, adhere to machine specifications and standard operating procedures.
• Generate job cards, minimise downtime and conduct weekly/monthly stock takes and cycle counts.
• Identify gaps in the process and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Matric / Grade 12 qualification.
• Relevant bakery experience within an FMCG environment.
• 5–7 years of production experience, including 2–3 years in a supervisory role.
• Ability to work a rotating 12‑hour shift schedule, including weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Knowledge of bakery production line equipment and first‑line maintenance.
• Familiarity with standard operating procedures and job‑card generation.
