Production Planning Supervisor

About the role

Join a leading manufacturing organisation in Johannesburg as a Production Planning Supervisor. You will drive the planning and execution of production activities, ensuring that output meets delivery commitments while maintaining high efficiency and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and scheduling production to meet delivery timelines.
• Monitor and track work‑in‑progress (WIP) jobs for timely completion.
• Collaborate with production teams to balance factory capacity and resolve bottlenecks.
• Load and track all production jobs in Syspro/WMS.
• Monitor stock levels, coordinate material requirements with procurement, and follow up with suppliers on delays.
• Support stock‑take, inventory control, and Kaizen initiatives.
• Analyse production costs against budget and prepare daily/weekly performance reports.
• Identify layout improvements to optimise workflow and ensure compliance with policies and best practices.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Industrial Engineering or Production Management.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• At least 1‑2 years in a supervisory role.

Required skills

• Syspro and Warehouse Management System (WMS) proficiency.
• Advanced Excel and MS Office skills.
• Knowledge of production planning, inventory management, Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing principles.
