Production Manager - Plastic Industry

About the role

The Production Manager reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for achieving production targets while ensuring continuity, quality, and compliance with company standards. This role oversees the entire production line in a plastic manufacturing environment, coordinating resources and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate and support the production team, managing priorities and fostering staff development.
• Plan the production program efficiently, minimizing colour and mould changes and aligning resources with the Logistics and Technical Managers.
• Execute the production schedule, maintain line efficiency through routine maintenance, and ensure adherence to quality protocols.
• Schedule technical interventions and machinery maintenance in collaboration with the Technical Manager.
• Monitor statistical production data (yield variance, waste, cycle time, energy consumption, productivity) to drive optimisation.
• Participate in the industrialisation of new products and processes, and troubleshoot quality issues.
• Promote a positive work environment through effective communication and rapid issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations, keeping work areas clean and safe.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Production Manager in FMCG or automotive sectors.
• Proven experience managing large production teams.
• Accountable, analytical, resilient, and a strong team player.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of plastic molding technologies (EBM, SBM, IM).
• Excellent applied knowledge of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) standards.
• Strong understanding of supply‑chain processes.
• Solid knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) rules and practices.
• Basic applied knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP.
