Production Manager – Frozen & Chilled Meat Products

About the role

AIMS South Africa is seeking an experienced Production Manager to own all production operations at its Lords View Industrial Park facility. The role is hands‑on, fast‑paced and focused on maintaining temperature‑controlled environments, food safety, and efficient dispatch of frozen and chilled meat products.

Key responsibilities

• Manage receiving, put‑away, picking and dispatch of frozen and chilled products while enforcing FIFO/FEFO rotation.
• Conduct regular stock takes, reconcile data in the Meat Matrix system and monitor storage capacity.
• Ensure cold rooms and freezers operate within required temperature ranges and maintain temperature logs, cleaning schedules and audit records.
• Enforce HACCP, food‑safety and PPE compliance, and uphold company SOPs.
• Lead production team meetings, set targets, train staff on safe handling and equipment use, and manage attendance and performance.
• Liaise daily with dispatch, cold store, telesales and QA, and report on stock variances, damages and productivity.
• Control packaging, racking and equipment maintenance needs, and assist with load planning to maximise truck space.

Required profile

• Minimum Matric qualification; Diploma or certificate in Production Management or Food Safety is advantageous.
• 3–5 years’ experience as a Production Supervisor/Manager in an FMCG or meat facility.
• Proven experience with the Meat Matrix system (essential) and/or OMS systems, including yield management and cost analysis.
• Solid knowledge of HACCP, cold‑chain management and meat handling.
• Familiarity with production equipment and machinery is a plus.
