Production Engineer

About the role

Volvo Trucks is looking for a Production Engineer to support the assembly of trucks worldwide. You will ensure that vehicles are built to specification by providing clear instructions, technical solutions and engineering support throughout the production process.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and standardise assembly process sequences, work instructions and SOPs.
• Conduct workload and time studies, update assembly layouts and optimise tooling and equipment.
• Manage product and process changes including Product Modification Requests, Design Change Notices and Customer Adaptations.
• Resolve assembly‑related issues, coordinate cross‑functional teams on safety, ergonomics, quality and material supply.
• Plan and launch new product variants, ensuring compliance with SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) targets.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives through the Volvo Performance System and lead cross‑functional projects.
• Identify training needs for new processes and secure stakeholder sign‑off on handovers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment, preferably automotive or logistics.
• Proven project‑management experience and ability to work in a VUCA environment.
• Strong analytical and decision‑making capabilities.
