Production Burner

About the role

The Burner provides support within the Production division by cutting a variety of steel products with a cutting torch, according to operational requirements. The position reports to the Production Manager and is a permanent role with standard hours.

Key responsibilities

• Cut a variety of steel for re-melting purposes
• Maintain and check cutting tools
• Ensure equipment is in good, safe and working order
• Follow the correct procedure before cutting hazardous material
• Maintain safe working procedures at all times and abide by OHS Act and company policies
• Work overtime as required by operational needs

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Relevant experience as a burner is advantageous
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime
• Attention to detail, honesty and reliability, and ability to work with minimal supervision

Required skills

• Excellent knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals
• Good knowledge of cutting safety procedures and safety equipment
• Basic knowledge of health and safety rules
