Product Specialist – Bottling (Johannesburg)

About the role

The Product Specialist will provide commercial and technical support to grow the Bottling Chain product range within the Drive Belts division across Gauteng, Limpopo and the Free State. The role focuses on developing opportunities in the bottling and conveying sectors, especially breweries and beverage producers, by promoting Regal Rexnord Flat Top Chain products.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and develop the Regal Rexnord Flat Top Chain range in breweries, beverage plants and conveying system applications.
• Provide technical and commercial support to BMG branches and sales representatives in the designated region.
• Identify and develop new opportunities within bottling, packaging and conveying industries.
• Conduct customer visits and technical assessments on bottling lines, conveyors and packaging equipment.
• Offer application support and product recommendations for flat‑top chain, conveying components and related drive products.
• Assist branches with quotation preparation, product selection and application troubleshooting.
• Monitor margins, review pricing and sales performance, and investigate margin exceptions.
• Support stock management, including monitoring excess and slow‑moving inventory.
• Maintain strong communication with the BMG sales and branch network.
• Liaise with suppliers, providing feedback on product performance, market trends and opportunities.
• Support training and product awareness initiatives for internal sales teams.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and maintain a safe, organized work environment.

Required profile

• Matric / Grade 12 (essential); technical or engineering qualification advantageous.
• 5–7 years experience in the bottling, beverage or conveying industry.
• Experience with flat top chains, conveyor systems or bottling line components is highly advantageous.
• Strong technical and commercial acumen with proven technical sales or product support experience.
• Ability to work independently while supporting a large regional branch network.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of flat top chains and conveyor systems.
• Familiarity with bottling line components.
• Experience with KERRIDGE software (advantageous).
