Product Manager – Promotions

About the role

Takealot.com, South Africa’s leading online retailer, is seeking a Product Manager to lead the Promotions team in Cape Town. You will shape the product roadmap that powers both internal promotional tools and external seller‑facing systems, driving commercial growth across the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of the Promotions division’s strategy, processes and benchmark best practices.
• Collaborate with the Product Lead to define and maintain a roadmap that delivers technical capabilities aligned with business objectives.
• Translate business requirements into functional user stories, technical specifications and phased project plans.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of technical projects, from design through release and production launch.
• Measure and track key performance metrics, prioritising improvements and new features.
• Manage stakeholder communication, backlog prioritisation and sprint planning with engineering, QA and UX teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in product management within e‑commerce or online retail environments.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to use data to inform roadmap decisions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, design and commercial teams.
