Product Manager – Catalogue

About the role

Takealot.com, South Africa’s leading online retailer, is seeking a Product Manager to lead its Catalogue team in Cape Town. You will own the product roadmap, balancing commercial growth with compliance and risk management to ensure a secure and high‑performing merchant division.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a strategic product roadmap aligned with the Catalogue division’s objectives.
• Translate business requirements into functional and technical user stories and project specifications.
• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of technical projects, managing timelines, cross‑functional teams and production launches.
• Measure and improve key performance metrics, prioritising roadmap initiatives based on data‑driven insights.
• Manage stakeholder communications and engineering backlog, ensuring effective sprint planning and prioritisation.

Required profile

• Proven track record of delivering results in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with analytical capabilities.
• Highly structured thinker with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with software engineers, QA engineers and UX designers.

Required skills

• SQL for data extraction and analysis.
