Product Control Analyst - Corporate & Investment Banking

The Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) division of Liberty is hiring a Product Control Analyst for its Finance & Value Management team in Johannesburg. The role sits close to the Treasury front office, including traders, risk and valuation specialists, and gives insight into daily trading activity and Treasury's role in managing liquidity and risk. Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse daily profit and loss statements, investigating and explaining significant variances.
• Assist in valuing financial instruments in line with accounting standards and internal policies.
• Perform regular reconciliations of trading positions and financial records to find and resolve discrepancies.
• Analyse market products, including their risks and P&L impact.
• Work with Treasury traders and front office staff to ensure accurate trade capture and reporting.
• Support risk management and compliance by providing accurate financial information and explanations.
• Identify ways to improve existing processes and controls.

Required profile

• Postgraduate degree in Commerce, Finance or Accounting.
• Chartered Accountant (CA) (SA) qualification highly desirable.
• 1 to 5 years of relevant experience in product control.
• Experience in finance and value management, specifically product control analysis.
• Exposure to global markets, investment banking or transaction banking is advantageous.
• Familiarity with auditing principles is a plus.
