Procurement Specialist – Logistics (Johannesburg)

About the role

The Procurement Specialist will lead the sourcing, negotiation and acquisition of goods and services essential to the logistics and supply chain operations. Working within the logistics department, the role ensures timely delivery of quality products while maintaining cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to secure optimal terms.
• Source and procure materials, equipment and services required for logistics operations.
• Oversee inventory levels, ensuring alignment with demand forecasts.
• Control costs through effective pricing analysis and spend management.
• Monitor quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and the Procurement Manager to support business objectives.
• Identify and mitigate procurement risks, including those related to international supply chains.

Required profile

• Degree in Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven procurement experience, preferably in logistics or supply chain.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management capabilities.
• Familiarity with logistics operations and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with international procurement and global supply chains.
• Mandarin language skills are a plus.

Required skills

• Knowledge of procurement software and tools.
• Understanding of logistics and supply chain processes.
