Process Controller – Distillery Operations

About the role

The Process Controller will oversee the transfer and volume determination processes within the cellar of Worcester Distillery. Reporting to the Cellar Team Leader, the role ensures accurate documentation, safety compliance, and continuous improvement of tank operations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise transfers and tank volume determination processes.
• Monitor and evaluate tank transfer losses.
• Implement innovative improvements to operational procedures.
• Ensure samples are taken for analysis and transfers are documented in movement books.
• Close tank gauges and lock stores at shift end.
• Maintain cleanliness of tanks and storage areas.
• Enforce health and safety requirements.
• Supervise subordinates during transfer and loading activities.
• Assist the Cellar Team Leader with monthly tank counts, bulk stock takes, and transfer planning.
• Verify pH levels of RSP HG and Feints 1 for distillation.
• Complete monthly inspections and checklists.
• Participate in TPM activities and perform ad‑hoc duties across departments.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent; tertiary qualification advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years cellar experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
• Physically fit to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Willingness to conduct sensory evaluations.
• Computer literacy with MS Office.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Punctuality and reliable attendance.
