Process Control Technician

About the role

Meadow Feeds is seeking a Process Control Technician to ensure the optimal operation of control and instrumentation systems within its feed mill. The role combines hands‑on plant work with administrative responsibilities to support safe, high‑quality feed production.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain optimal functioning of control‑and‑instrumentation components throughout the mill.
• Manage calibration records for process scales and weighbridges.
• Calibrate and oversee electronic flowmeters, process scales, and weighbridges.
• Develop process control drawings for maintenance and projects using Microsoft Visio.
• Plan modifications to Beckhoff I/O lists and communicate changes to the system integrator.
• Assist electricians on standby with automation fault finding after hours.
• Perform related administrative duties.
• Adhere to health and safety rules and comply with ISO 9001, ISO 22000, HACCP, 20 Keys, Astral Code of Ethics, and other company management systems.

Required profile

• T3 Diploma or B‑Tech degree in Electrical Engineering with industrial control systems subjects.
• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience in a factory or similar manufacturing environment.
• Experience with industrial instrumentation and control systems, including electronic weighing systems and PLCs.
• Knowledge of variable speed drives and soft starters (advantage).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self‑starter with high motivation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and drawing experience with Microsoft Visio.
• Attention to detail and a balanced approach between hands‑on plant work and administrative tasks.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Residence in the Paarl area preferred.
