Process Artisan

About the role

The Process Artisan operates the process area according to work instructions, carries out non-destructive quality checks and performs routine maintenance. The role focuses on the asset care activities of the team, covering process control, equipment upkeep and quality monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the process area according to work instructions and usage standards, and complete short-interval control documentation
• Carry out non-destructive quality checks and analyses, record results and escalate unresolved quality issues to the team leader
• Record waste, review waste trends and respond quickly to upstream or downstream stoppages
• Perform housekeeping, cleaning, lubrication and inspection of machines, and routine maintenance, escalating larger problems to the team leader
• Take part in maintenance and cleaning days, maintenance postmortems and maintenance support
• Use 5S principles, follow safe work practices and apply problem-solving techniques such as 5 Why and quick fixes
• Participate in shift meetings, use the gap list and team goal reviews, and contribute to continuous improvement using run/control charts, Pareto charts and short-stop analysis

Required profile

• N3 Engineering Studies or trade tested
• At least 2 years of working experience in manufacturing
• Team player, able to work in shifts with minimum supervision, action-oriented, sober-minded and physically fit

Required skills

• Solving problems on FMCG machines and reducing machine downtime
• Basic problem-solving tools (5 Why, fishbone, AB Reports, SDCA, PDCA)
• Analyzing graphical data and identifying non-standard work
• Understanding of bus systems (Asibus, Profibus, Canbus, Ethernet, Ethercat) only for electrical and instrument roles
• Electronic devices, camera technology and algorithms
