Post Investment Associate – Durban

About the role

The Post Investment Associate will monitor the investment portfolio, oversee recoveries and restructuring, and ensure effective risk management for the post‑investment function in Durban.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct post‑investment due diligence and ongoing monitoring of the allocated portfolio.
• Perform due diligence on investee applications for further funding and secure approvals from relevant committees.
• Carry out periodic site visits and oversee legal compliance of investees.
• Prepare investee valuations, impairment calculations and quarterly risk analysis reports.
• Liaise with internal and external audit teams and manage the mentor panel of consultants.
• Monitor Empowerment Dividend data and flag potential non‑compliance or defaults.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of deal‑making or investment experience, preferably in corporate finance or venture capital.
• Completed articles or strong audit background with knowledge of taxation, Companies Act and commercial law.
• Proven ability to analyse financial statements, build financial models and conduct enterprise valuations.
• Experience managing a diverse investment portfolio from a post‑investment perspective across various sectors.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and strong report‑writing capabilities.
