Portfolio Manager – Transport & Mobility

About the role

Merchant West is seeking a Portfolio Manager to oversee a portfolio of client facilities focused on transport and mobility. You will ensure strong financial performance, manage risk, and deliver high‑quality client service while supporting deal execution and portfolio growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor a portfolio of client facilities, tracking exposures, repayment behaviour and overall health.
• Maintain and deepen client relationships, identifying additional business opportunities and resolving issues promptly.
• Monitor credit risk, ensure compliance with covenants and facility conditions, and escalate concerns when needed.
• Support business units in deal structuring, assess financial impact of restructurings or additional funding, and identify growth opportunities.
• Prepare accurate portfolio reports, keep documentation up‑to‑date, and provide regular performance updates to management.
• Ensure adherence to credit policies, maintain audit trails, and support compliance audits.

Required profile

• BCom degree with Finance, Mathematics or Accounting subjects.
• 4+ years of client‑facing experience in a financial environment, preferably with solution selling.
• Proven ability to manage a portfolio, analyse financial statements and evaluate credit risk.
