PMO Manager – Project Management Office Lead

About the role

The PMO Manager will lead the Project Management Office for a construction company specialising in fire protection and sprinkler systems. Reporting to the Contracts Director, the role focuses on governance, financial control and cash‑flow optimisation across all projects.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and manage the PMO function, ensuring consistent processes, templates and reporting standards across all active projects.
• Oversee contract management, monitoring deadlines, claims, payment provisions and mitigating contractual risks.
• Drive project valuations, subcontractor certifications and pro‑forma invoicing to maximise cash flow and margin.
• Control project budgets, track revenue, costs and margins, and intervene where performance gaps arise.
• Manage variations, commercial recoveries and contra charges, maintaining accurate registers and timely claims.
• Produce consolidated monthly PMO reports for senior management and the Contracts Director’s Exco report.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for financial tracking and reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience using Pastel accounting software.
