Pharmacy Stock Controller

About the role

The Pharmacy Stock Controller will oversee inventory and supply chain activities for the pharmacy department at Life St. George's Hospital. The role ensures medication safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient stock management across wards, theatre and pharmacy units.

Key responsibilities

• Report 100% of inventory incidents and implement remedial actions.
• Conduct quarterly trend analysis with Pharmacy and Theatre managers.
• Support implementation of LHC quality management systems and ensure compliance with SAPC, DOH and LHC standards.
• Assist in achieving hospital budget targets for pharmacy, ward and theatre stock.
• Manage cost of sales for pharmaceuticals, maintain optimal stock levels and perform regular stock counts.
• Order, receive, unpack and reconcile stock, and follow up with suppliers.
• Coordinate month‑end stock procedures and handle dead‑stock disposal.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• Computer literate with proficiency in Internet, email, MS Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of inventory control processes; experience in a hospital or similar environment is advantageous.
• Ability to work effectively in a team, reliable transport and flexibility for shift work.
