Pharmacist Assistant – Johannesburg

About the role

Alma Clinics is seeking a full‑time, on‑site Pharmacist Assistant to join its Clinical team in the Johannesburg Metropolitan Area. You will support daily pharmacy operations, ensuring safe preparation and dispensing of medications while delivering a welcoming experience for patients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense medications under pharmacist supervision.
• Manage stock levels, conduct inventory checks, and maintain accurate records.
• Assist with compounding tasks, ensuring precise measurement, preparation, and labeling.
• Maintain a clean, safe dispensary environment and comply with legal and regulatory standards.
• Greet patients, answer basic medication queries, and refer complex questions to the pharmacist.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to support smooth patient flow.

Required profile

• Foundational knowledge of pharmacy practice and medicines management.
• Experience in dispensing, stock control, and general pharmacy workflow.
• Relevant pharmacy assistant or technician training, certification, or registration as required by local regulations.
• High attention to detail, reliability in following procedures, and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced clinical environment and within a multidisciplinary team.
