About the role

Mediclinic is recruiting a Pharmacist Assistant for its Vereeniging site. The role is on-site and permanent, and aims to help provide a comprehensive, professional and cost-effective pharmaceutical service to in-patients and the public.

Key responsibilities

Ensure medicines and scheduled substances are available to stores and the public
Ensure accurate dispensing
Ensure efficient stock holding of medicines and scheduled substances

Required profile

Essential education: Pharmacist Assistant Post Basic Certificate
No minimum experience required; desired: 1-3 years in private hospital pharmacy, clinical pharmacy including antimicrobial stewardship, and stock management and distribution
Knowledge of current pharmacy and healthcare industry challenges, relevant legislation such as the Medicines and Related Substances Control Act, ethical product knowledge, financial management, medical aid scheme benefits, regulations and formularies

Required skills

Clinical pharmacy and antimicrobial stewardship
Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
Pharmacy systems such as UNISOLVE and AS400
