Pharmaceutical Sales Representative – Independent & Corporate

About the role

The Pharmaceutical Sales Representative will promote and sell the company’s products across independent pharmacies, pharmacy groups, and corporate pharmacy chains in Gauteng. The role focuses on expanding market share, building brand loyalty, and achieving sales targets within the pharmacy sector.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a sales plan targeting independent, group, and corporate pharmacies, conducting regular visits to present and sell products.
• Manage product orders and inventory levels to ensure continuous supply and meet sales targets.
• Establish and maintain relationships with pharmacists and key decision‑makers, providing product updates and handling queries.
• Gather market intelligence on competition, pricing, new launches, and merchandising techniques.
• Maintain detailed records of contacts, prepare sales and market reports, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Conduct educational sessions and product demonstrations for pharmacy staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, pharmacy or a related field.
• Proven track record in pharmaceutical sales or strong potential with training provided.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical products, industry trends and regulatory standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with presentation skills.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel extensively within the territory.
• Strong negotiation, sales, interpersonal and customer‑service skills.
• High level of organization, time‑management and ability to work independently or in a team.
