Personal Claims Consultant (HOC)

About the role

The Personal Claims Consultant (HOC) will provide end‑to‑end claims administration support for short‑term insurance products. Working within Nedbank’s Personal and Private Banking division, you will ensure claims are processed efficiently, in line with service level agreements and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and facilitate the claims process while complying with the Service Level Agreement and Claims Protocol.
• Monitor, identify and report trends to reduce risk for the Nedbank Group.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand short‑term insurance needs.
• Process claims from initiation to finalisation, ensuring compliance with policy terms.
• Stay updated on legislation, industry changes and Nedbank policies.
• Contribute to culture and transformation goals through corporate initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for process, system and policy improvements and support their implementation.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in the short‑term insurance industry (personal or commercial lines).
• HOC experience, specifically non‑motor claims.
• Matric/Grade 12 or National Senior Certificate.
• Higher Certificate in Short‑Term Insurance.
• Knowledge of administrative procedures, banking processes, data analysis, governance, risk and regulatory frameworks.
