Permanent Municipal Management and Support Positions

About the role

The Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality is recruiting for several permanent positions across its administration, including Executive Manager, Human Resources Manager, Risk Management Officer, Internal Auditor and Building Control Officer. All roles are based in the municipality and aim to strengthen service delivery, governance and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement operational systems, risk frameworks and financial controls to support good governance.
• Formulate and monitor short‑, medium‑ and long‑term service delivery plans aligned with municipal strategies.
• Manage human resources, disciplinary processes and organisational change within the municipality.
• Conduct internal audits, monitor compliance and report on financial and administrative risks.
• Review building plans, issue compliance notices and ensure adherence to national building regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Science, Public Management, Human Resources, Risk Management, Architecture, Engineering).
• Relevant experience ranging from two to five years in municipal or related environments, at middle‑management level for senior roles.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Additional qualifications such as a Certificate in Municipal Finance Management or MFMP are advantageous.
