People & Learning Generalist (Johannesburg)

About the role

We are looking for an ambitious People professional to own the Learning & Development agenda while providing agile HR generalist support across the employee lifecycle. The role sits at the heart of a fast‑moving sales and operations environment, linking people capability with business performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead L&D initiatives: conduct capability gap analyses, design blended learning and sales‑enablement content, facilitate induction and development programmes, and set assessment standards.
• Administer the Learning Management System (LMS): track completions, assessments, attendance and maintain audit‑ready training records.
• Provide full‑lifecycle HR generalist services: first‑line HR support, talent acquisition, onboarding, performance improvement and employee‑relations assistance.
• Prepare strategic HR and L&D reports for executive committees and manage BBBEE Skills Development evidence.
• Partner with sales and operations leaders to ensure learning initiatives drive customer experience, compliance and commercial results.
• Lead continuous‑improvement projects: digitise HR processes, optimise workflows and run high‑impact engagement campaigns.

Required profile

• Matric/Grade 12 plus a recognised degree or diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Learning & Development or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience with substantial hands‑on L&D accountability.
• Demonstrated HR generalist competence across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management and HR operations.
• Proven facilitation and instructional‑design capability for both in‑person and virtual training.
• Practical knowledge of compliance reporting and HR metrics.
