About the role
Beaufort West Municipality, together with the Department of Police Oversight and Community Safety, is offering a 30‑day accredited Peace Officer Training programme for unemployed youth in the greater Beaufort West area. The training is fully funded for up to 20 qualifying participants and is designed to strengthen local law‑enforcement capacity. Upon successful completion, trainees will be offered a twelve‑month EPWP contract to work as peace officers.
Required profile
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
- Clear criminal record as verified by SAPS.
- Age between 20 and 30 years.
- Currently unemployed and resident in the greater Beaufort West area.
- Valid South African ID document.
- Physically fit and willing to undergo random drug testing.
- Ability to submit a completed municipal application form, cover letter, certified copies of qualifications, ID, and a stamped vetting certificate from SAPS.
- Successful completion of a written diagnostic assessment conducted by the Cape Town Metro Police Training department.
