Payroll Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and organized Payroll Accountant to manage payroll processing while ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable tax regulations. The role involves processing employee payroll accurately and on time, maintaining records, reconciling accounts, and supporting financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Process weekly, bi‑weekly, or monthly payroll accurately and within established deadlines.
• Maintain payroll records, employee earnings, deductions, benefits, and tax information.
• Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and other compensation.
• Prepare and reconcile payroll journal entries with the general ledger.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and prepare payroll tax filings.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, taxes, and benefits.
• Coordinate with Human Resources and Finance to ensure accurate employee and compensation data.
• Assist with year‑end payroll activities, including PAYE annual reconciliation and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of payroll accounting or payroll administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of payroll principles, accounting practices, and payroll tax regulations.
• Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
• Effective communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
