Part-Time Retail Associate (Athlete) - Nike Woodmead

About the role

Nike is hiring a part-time Retail Store Associate (called an Athlete) for its Nike Store in Woodmead, Johannesburg. The role suits enthusiastic, customer-focused people who enjoy a fast-paced retail environment and are interested in sportswear, footwear, fashion and customer service. It is full time but part-time, with a minimum of 24 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome customers into the store and help them feel welcome and understood.
• Identify customer needs and give product recommendations based on product knowledge.
• Explain product features and support customers' purchasing decisions.
• Deliver positive customer experiences and stay up to date with Nike products and technologies.
• Operate cash registers, receive and ship products, stock merchandise and clean and prepare visual displays.
• Work with colleagues to manage enquiries, keep products available and run daily store operations.

Required profile

• At least 18 years old and a Grade 12 certificate.
• Available for about three to four days per week, including daytime and evening shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, reliability and willingness to learn.
• Able to perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, reaching, climbing a ladder and standing for long periods; reasonable accommodations may apply.
• No prior retail experience required.
