Part-Time BIM Consultant

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time BIM Consultant to support Jacobs Parker Architects’ BIM implementation journey in Cape Town. The role combines hands‑on modelling with the development of internal BIM standards and capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the office BIM Execution Plan (BEP) as a living document.
• Establish and enforce BIM standards, including naming conventions, folder structures, model setup rules and drawing registers.
• Conduct audits of Revit templates, live project files and existing families to ensure compliance.
• Coordinate BIM workflows across project stages, disciplines and consultant teams, supporting project setup, model federation, coordination reviews and information hand‑over.
• Manage BIM‑related risk and programme impacts in collaboration with project leadership.
• Maintain the integrity, performance and reliability of project models and data environments.
• Produce and manage BIM deliverables on projects, and develop and maintain Revit families, templates and project‑specific BIM content.

Required profile

• Strong technical BIM background with the ability to model, coordinate and develop BIM standards.
• Proven experience in building BIM capability within an organisation.
• Ability to work independently and support project teams on a part‑time basis.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
